We have worked harmoniously with leading implant clinics worldwide for almost ten years, during which time, thousands of patients have been treated successfully. These clinics use the best implant systems from around the world in order to find the most suitable implant solution for you, and even patients who had been refused implants elsewhere have been treated successfully.
About Dr. Matt Durrans
Dr Matthew Durrans completed his medical training, as well as his first degree in orthopaedic surgery from Stellenbosch University. He obtained his third degree; in orthopaedic surgery; from the Colleges of Medicine of Southern Africa.
While completing his degrees, he earned both the Dr Joe De Beer shoulder prize and the Dr Spike Erasmus prize. After graduating in 2009 he worked under Dr Heine De Jongh and Dr Antoon De Klerk in a fellowship-like hip and knee arthroplasty program until 2015. He also headed up the Upper Limb Unit at Paarl Provincial Hospital. At present, he is in full-time private practice at Cape Gate Mediclinic.
He is a member of the South African Orthopaedic Association, The South African Foot and Ankle Society, The South African Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society and is an international member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr Durrans’ areas of interest include:
- Lower limb, foot and ankle surgery
- Hip and knee arthroplasty
- Shoulder surgery
- Trauma orthopaedic surgery
- Buttonhole and minimum invasive surgery techniques for the above fields

Carina has been with the practice since it started and will help you with any booking enquiries.
Practice PR Officer
Mrs Smit is the person responsible for formulating and distributing feedback from Dr Durrans to referring providers.
Practice Manager
Dr H van der Hoven is the practice manager.
Practice Nurse
Aimee is a registered nurse and works under the supervision of Dr Durrans. She runs the practice’s wound clinic which manages post-operative wound care and other minor wound issues. She also facilitates third-party service requests.
Financial Services
FLOURISH SA MEDICAL BUREAU is responsible for the practices accounting services.
